Melamine moulding compound (MMC):

• Melamine moulding compounds ( thermosetting plastics) are amino moulding compounds composed of melamine formaldehyde and alpha cellulose as filling material with the addition of lubricant , hardening agent & pigments.
• Thermosets offer many advantages over basic thermoplastics and are suitable for compression , transfer or injection moulding. They are produced in a precise, brilliant, light fastness and vibrant range of colors They are available in powder (which gives much better surface) or granular form.
• Melamine moulding compounds are strong , glossy , very very durable and highly resistant to staining. They have better resistance to heat, solvents, chemicals, moisture, electricity and scratching than urea moulding compounds.

1. Resin raw materials: in the production of melamine-formaldehyde resin.
2. Decorative veneers: Melamine can be used as veneer of plane, ship and furniture, also as fire, earthquake, and heat resistant housing decorative material.
3. Coating: Cross-linking agent used in coating of acrylic acid series, alkyd series and epoxy series.
4. Molding powder: It can be made into high-class insulating material used in daily vessels, sanitary ware, imitation porcelain tableware, and electrical equipment.

Packing, handling and storage

Handling:	It is advisable to wear a dust musk while emptying the bags . Hand should be thoroughly washed at the end of the working day and before meals.
Storage:	Storage at 250c gives stability for 6 months Avoid moisture, dirt, packaging damage &high temperature which affect the materials Flow and its mouldability.
